The Alberni District Teachers’ Union (ADTU) represents and supports teachers, Teachers Teaching on Call (TTOCs), and Associated Professionals across School District 70 Pacific Rim. As a Local of the BCTF, we advocate for members’ professional and workplace interests and contribute to public education in our community. Guided by our shared values of Integrity, Equity, Unity, Respect, and Well-Being, we provide information, guidance and advocacy.
Your Worksite Representative (Staff Rep) is your direct connection to the union. Elected by colleagues, Staff Reps share information, offer general guidance on workplace matters, and bring forward concerns to the Representative Assembly. They also connect members with the ADTU Executive for further support when needed. Staying connected with ADTU helps you receive updates on collective bargaining, professional learning, health and safety, committees, and opportunities to participate in union life.
