The Alberni District Teachers’ Union (ADTU) is guided by our shared values of Integrity, Equity, Unity, Respect, and Well-Being. These values shape how we make decisions, support members, and contribute to public education in our communities.
- Annual General Meeting (AGM): Once a year, members gather to elect leaders, set priorities, and shape the direction of the union collectively.
- Executive: Elected members provide leadership on behalf of the union, carrying out the day-to-day business.
- Representative Assembly (RA): Worksite Representatives and the Executive meet regularly to share concerns, discuss solutions, and ensure every member’s voice is reflected in union decision-making.
- Committees: Members collaborate in areas such as professional learning, bargaining, health and safety, and equity, helping the union respond directly to the needs of our members.
Together, these groups strengthen our collective voice, supporting members in their work and contributing to a strong public education system.
ADTU Office
The ADTU office is a small but dedicated team that works closely with members and elected leaders to carry out the daily work of the union. Guided by the priorities set at the AGM and through the Executive and Representative Assembly, we provide support, advocacy, and resources that reflect our shared values of Integrity, Equity, Unity, Respect, and Well-Being. In doing so, the ADTU office helps strengthen the collective voice of our members.
